Kingdom Officers

The Rising Winds has several elected officers within our organization. Below is a list of the current officers, their positions, and a simple description of their responsibilities along with an email link for each position.

Monarch

It is the monarchs duty to preside over all events occurring during their reign. To settle disputes and mend old rivalries. Should their be a tie in any election or vote the monarch has the right to break that tie.

Being monarch is supposed to be fun, they have very few written responsibilities. Their real job is making sure that everyone else does their job. This is a lot harder than it sounds. Many times a Monarchs reign will be defined not just but what they do but what every other officer does as well. What every event planner does, every feast-o-crat. Good or bad, it will be seen as their fault.

Regent

It is the regent's duty to organize the two main arts and sciences events as well as the A&S guilds during their reign. They are also responsible for the Kingdom feasts during our quarterly camping events. The regent is also responsible for filling in for the monarch if he is not present.

It may not sound like a lot to just organize a few things and help out when the monarch cannot be there but many regents find that it is more work than they at first imagined.

Champion

It is the champions responsibility to ensure the safety of all players on the field, organize the two main combat tournies during the reign, organize battlegames when none are pre-arranged, and is responsible for the lost and found.

The Champion is the only position that is not elected. Once a candidate qualifies to hold the position they will then fight in a tournament against all other candidates. The winner is the new kingdom champion

Prime Minister

Prime Minister is probably the most thankless, time consuming job that exists in all of Amtgard. The Prime Minister responsible for keeping track of awards, credits, dues, waivers, of every single player past and present; and group funds. It is a lot of paper work and a lot of responsibility. Prime Minsters also presides over elections with the exception of any election that he may be participating in (such as re-election for Prime Minister).

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is for the express purpose of managing the business and corporate affairs of the Rising Winds. They will possess no power concerning rules of the games or cultural presentations themselves except in the cases of safety for the membership.

The monarch and prime minister are automatically members of the BOD with five other members elected specifically to serve on the board.
