To put it simply, I like video games. Namely video game RPGs... I remember the first one I ever played... Phantasy Star for the Sega Master System. (Coincidently that game was the first real console RPG to be released in America) Since then, I've basically played them all... Dragon Warrior, all the Final Fantasies (even the ones not release in America), blah blah blah...

So did my friends growing up. In fact, in grade school during recess, while all the other kids were playing tag or house or whatever, my friends were playing Final Fantasy, (I was always the Black Mage) or Crystalis, or Dragon Warrior. We would fight with sticks and when we got to my house we would swordfight all the time with large plastic baseball bats. :) Then everyone else grew up. :(

I guess Amtgard is me returning to that, only on a much larger scale, with foam swords and rules and an actual spell system! :) And instead of me playing it with a couple insane freaks, I'm playing it with hundreds of insane freaks. And we even get to dress up and play in public rather than my back yard! And we're all adults! And the playground attendants don't yell at us for being violent and trying to kill each other!

And it's more than that... I've so many awesome people in Amtgard... including my current (and first) girlfriend... and about eleventy billion other friends. Amtgard will always be about the fun of the game for me. I don't care about titles, or poly-ticks, or awards, but I'm always willing to help out if it helps me and everyone else enjoy the fun of the game and hit people with foam sticks. :) I've gotten into politics before, and hated it... and that's why I like CC. We've had one freaking Althing in the 3 and a half years we've been up, it's great. But we still managed to stay somewhat organized enough to have quests, and a few damn good battlegames a week.

And, once I get my new garb, I am, once again, going to be the Black Mage.

Remember everyone, as important as politics are, having fun is more important. This is a game, after all, the purpose of it is to have fun, and politics complement that.... the moment politics start getting taken so seriously they get in the way of the fun... then, well, that's just silly. ;)
