My friends, many of you know not of me. I am a simple monk and have trouble making it to events. I have been reading the emails and now am posting my view of amtgard.

Amtgard for me started as a simple game. I first saw it and said.. OHH! swords and sorcerory. I fell in love with padded weapons and slept with them near my bed. :) The game was all about the simple joys. Getting a kill, helping a party slay the dragon. And once in a while shouting for joy as you watch a dagger sneak by and nail the fear causing hobbit. (love ya hobbs)

Then it progressed. I went to the first event. and saw my first weiner dance DAHH!! and the first battle game with 60 people. Waving the shires banner in the charge of warriors. And the first feast. The drunken mule and free form roleplay. Feeling so sneaky at getting daggers past the guards.

As you can read, amtgard is nothing serious. It is all the fun in the world for me. I don't care about the politics as long as they don't get in my way of fun. The comradery and friends made make this game one of the best i have ever have the privaledge of playing in. well, i shall step off my soapbox and let the mic go to the next guy in line.
