Family. Plain, and simple. When I left Amtgard for the year that I
was with my now-ex, I was happy, but only at first. I would
occassionly hear of a great quest, or a great bardic, or a great
ANYTHING, and I would begin to wish that I had been there. I began
to realize I missed my friends, I missed my family, and that maybe I
wasn't as happy as I COULD be. I'm glad to be home. Sure, I miss
the great times my ex and I had, and don't get me wrong, not even
beating someone with a foam stick is better than sex, but at least my
friends in the Rising Winds don't have that "special time" of the
month, and I can enjoy them 25/7-365. Happiness, THAT is what the
duchy means to me. Now, if i can only find that Amtgard
girlfriend... :)
