SiteCamp Carlson, Fort Knox, Meade County, KYPrimitive camping is available, but remember the site will be in winter conditions so arrive prepared. There are a few large group cabins available on site. Sign up for renting cabins will start December 6th. If you want a cabin please e-mail either Onyx Freebird or Ramius The Dark on or after Dec. 6. The cabins can house at least six people comfortably. We don't know if there will be a quiet time, if there is it will most likely begin at 11pm. There is a shower house/restroom in addition to several port-o-lets scattered around the camp grounds. IMPORTANT: This is a wet site, however this is a military facility. Any minors or anyone that goes overboard should be aware that If you are caught by either our security or thiers you will be dealing with Military Police and they will not be lienient. Also, there is a closed off endangered bat area on site. You are commiting a felony if you disturb it. Do not do so! Please take these warnings under advisment. Directions from Louisville Airport: You will see a sign reading "I-264 E to I-65/PARKING/TERMINAL RETURN/DOWNTOWN" Continue onto Lower Terminal Dr and go North for 0.12 miles to Terminal Dr You will see a sign reading "I-264 E to I-71" Continue onto Terminal Dr and go West for 0.27 miles to Ramp You will see a sign reading "I-264 E to I-65/DOWNTOWN" Enter on ramp to I-65 S and merge with caution You will see a sign reading "I-65 S to US-61/NASHVILLE" Take I-65 S Ramp and merge with caution Continue on I-65 S and go Southeast Follow Basic Directions. Basic Directions: Take your best route to I-65 in Kentucky. Exit at exit #102 (Highway 313). Follow this road (appr 10 miles) to the first light and turn right onto 31W- North. Follow 31W-North past Fort Knox to Highway 60, turn left. Camp Carlson Travel Camp is on the right side (appr 3 miles). Hotels These are the hotels Travelocity listed for the general area.
